Industry is ready. Is the City of Edmonton?
As Edmonton's Mayor and City Council set their priorities for the 2027–2030 municipal budget, CREDA Edmonton Region is advocating for economic competitiveness to be at the forefront of decision-making, recognizing the critical role commercial real estate plays in attracting private sector investment, creating jobs, and building a prosperous, financially sustainable city.
To support Council's Economic Development priority, CREDA has developed Positioning Edmonton to Win: 2027–2030 Budget Recommendations for Economic Development & Commercial Real Estate Investment.
Our recommendations focus on practical, actionable priorities to strengthen Edmonton's competitiveness, including restoring confidence downtown, improving public safety, unlocking industrial development, streamlining approvals, supporting attainable housing projects, reducing red tape, and aligning infrastructure investment with market demand.
Our message to Mayor and Council is clear: Economic development requires more than ambition. It requires action.
We recognize the fiscal pressures facing the City. Our recommendations are about investing strategically, removing barriers to development, delivering essential services effectively, and creating the conditions that give industry the confidence to invest.
As the voice of Edmonton's commercial real estate development industry, CREDA is committed to working collaboratively with Mayor, Council, and Administration to advance practical solutions that attract private investment, create jobs, and grow our non-residential tax base.
We encourage you to explore our recommendations and the priorities we're championing on behalf of our industry. Both our Executive Summary and detailed 2027–2030 Budget Recommendations are available below:
